The Swedish singer, who we knew from hits like \u201cLush Life\u201d (which has new viral dance choreography), \u201cSymphony,\u201d \u201cNever Forget You,\u201d and \u201cAin\u2019t My Fault\u201d from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.refinery29.com\/en-us\/2016\/11\/128876\/zara-larsson-mtv-europe-awards\">a decade prior<\/a>, has reemerged as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.refinery29.com\/en-us\/addison-rae-style-summer-outfits\">pop diva<\/a> she\u2019s always been, and is finally getting her roses.<\/p>\n<p>Since she stepped on the red carpet at the 2025 MTV VMAs, Larsson immediately turned into a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.refinery29.com\/en-us\/are-capris-in-style-2026-outfit-ideas\">fashion It Girl<\/a>. It was just putting all the pieces together and trying to make her pop.\u201d And that pop was heard around the world when Ospina started styling Larsson as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.refinery29.com\/en-us\/2021\/07\/10524874\/who-is-singer-tate-mccrae\">Tate McRae<\/a>\u2018s <em>Possessive<\/em> tour opening act.<\/p>\n<p>For Larsson\u2019s current <em>Midnight Sun<\/em> era, Ospina boils down her aesthetic to a few words: \u201cDopamine, fairy, powerful, sexy girl.\u201d And we very much agree that it\u2019s dopamine dressing to the <em>max<\/em>. \u201cIf you like Zara\u2019s style,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0because you like color. She\u2019s all about empowerment. So if you want to wear that, you need to be a very bold and happy person; to be free and yourself and sexy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While she makes it clear that Larsson is the big boss, Ospina is the one in charge of research for inspiration (Ex: Winx Club, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.refinery29.com\/en-us\/bratz-style-makeup-shoes-fashion-accessories-clothing\">Bratz<\/a>, and Hannah Montana) and outreach to costume designers (especially emerging talent, Spanish creatives, and Central Saint Martins college graduates) to help reflect the different \u201cfun fairy vibes\u201d and \u201chot and sexy\u201d portions of Larsson\u2019s concert performances. \u201cI see something, an element or a color or a shape that I like from them. How can I get this into Zara\u2019s world? How can we merge it and make it magical for Zara\u201d she explains her thought process.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s how Ospina found Irish designer <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Sorcha O'Raghallaigh (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/sorcha.or\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sorcha O\u2019Raghallaigh<\/a>, who has previously created custom pieces for pop icons like Lady Gaga, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.refinery29.com\/en-us\/2023\/05\/11390151\/beyonce-renaissance-tour-outfits\">Beyonc\u00e9<\/a>, Madonna, and Kylie Minogue (and who was actually stepping back from custom design at the time). Her signature element? Flower work, dating back to her CSM graduate collection. \u201cThey\u2019ve always been a thread in my work. So I think that\u2019s what drew Caterina to me to develop a special hibiscus,\u201d O\u2019Raghallaigh says, adding: \u201cIt\u2019s been a real dream to work with Caterina and Zara, who also appreciate color and texture and sparkle, which is my favorite thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ospina echoes this, saying: \u201cNo one at that point really knew what we were capable of, and with her, it was just the perfect match.\u201d That is, when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DOWz-VYEkyP\/?img_index=1\">Larsson stepped out at the 2025 MTV VMAs<\/a> in a collaborative look from the stylist and costume designer that showed off the singer in a sheer bedazzled mini dress covered in rhinestoned hibiscus flowers, with a hair clip to match. From the <em>many<\/em> shimmering mini skirts worn across Larsson\u2019s EU and current US <em>Midnight Sun<\/em> tours to the embellished hibiscus bra in <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"PinkPantheress\u2019 \u201cStateside\u201d music video (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DTinxv0gWJD\/\" target=\"_blank\">PinkPantheress\u2019 \u201cStateside\u201d music video<\/a>, the custom designs have helped define the singer\u2019s current era \u2014 which O\u2019Raghallaigh describes as: \u201cFantasy, colorful, a bit Barbie, and Y2K\u201d \u2014 while staying true to the designer\u2019s craft and POV. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverything I do and my team does is by hand, bead for bead. We literally make everything from scratch. We like to make life hard for ourselves, basically,\u201d the designer jokes. \u201cEven with the skirts for the US, they\u2019re tiny, but there\u2019s probably over a hundred hours of work in each one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When combined with other designers\u2019 pieces like crystal bodysuits and mesh tops through Ospina\u2019s styling, the outcome has been viral looks that Larsson\u2019s fans and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.refinery29.com\/en-us\/2023\/07\/11477880\/2023-concert-fashion-trends-fandom\">concertgoers love to recreate<\/a>. \u201cThe dedication from the fans has been insane,\u201d O\u2019Raghallaigh says. \u201cSome of the recreations\u2026 I\u2019m like: \u2018Do you want to come work for me?\u2019\u201d  <\/p>\n<p>Another mega trend we\u2019ve seen online is fans reinterpreting Larsson\u2019s bright and bold <em>beauty<\/em> looks, courtesy of Dutch celebrity makeup artist Sophia Sinot, who was recently awarded <em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Glamour\u2019s 2026 best beauty content creator (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DWGiX7_Aeb3\/?img_index=1\" target=\"_blank\">Glamour<\/a><\/em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Glamour\u2019s 2026 best beauty content creator (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DWGiX7_Aeb3\/?img_index=1\" target=\"_blank\">\u2019s 2026 Best Beauty Content Creator<\/a>. It was like, put as little makeup on as possible, but make sure you look as beautiful as possible,\u201d Sinot speaks on the minimal beauty aesthetic. \u201cWith this era that we\u2019re in now, people just don\u2019t really care about looking beautiful,\u201d elaborating that perfection and status-quo beauty looks aren\u2019t a top priority for self-expression anymore.<\/p>\n<p>For the EU tour, Sinot says she was inspired by space, nature, water, and reflections of the sun \u00e0 la songs like \u201cMidnight Sun\u201d and \u201cSaturn\u2019s Return.\u201d Sinot explains: \u201cThis tour is the first moment\u00a0where\u00a0we actually have been able to really express ourselves without any limitations\u00a0or\u00a0any rules,\u201d adding that her day-of process is very \u201cchaotic\u201d and Larsson just tags along for the ride. <\/p>\n<p>Sinot\u2019s signature \u201c<em>Midnight Sun<\/em> glam\u201d concepts include bright color-blocked eyeshadow, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.refinery29.com\/en-us\/tiktok-aura-blush-trend\">aura blush<\/a>, face gems, and, more recently, body makeup and stickers. For both Lis Dominguez (<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Alineo Studio (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/alineo_studio\/\" target=\"_blank\">Alineo Studio<\/a> designer) and Aitana Lorenzo (<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Ayquechulo (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/ayquechuloalorenzo\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ayquechulo<\/a> designer), they say: \u201cWe are both incredibly grateful to Caterina for this opportunity and for trusting us. Working for Zara has given us valuable experience and pushed us to adapt and reinvent ourselves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Both designers, who went to the same Spanish university together, were reached out to separately by Ospina to help reflect a style evolution for the US tour. \u201cWe immediately texted each other and started talking about it for hours. We connected instantly and knew that together we could evolve Zara\u2019s aesthetic and surprise her fans.\u201d And they did just that.<\/p>\n<p>Taking inspiration from early-2000s trends and pop icons like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.refinery29.com\/en-us\/2025\/02\/11849721\/paris-hilton-motorola-razr-y2k-interview\">Paris Hilton<\/a>, Destiny\u2019s Child, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.refinery29.com\/en-us\/sexy-lingerie-halloween-costumes\">Britney Spears<\/a>, the collaborative duo blended \u201cthe maximalism and signature colors of Ayquechulo with the fluidity of Alineo pieces.\u201d This has come to fruition through viral flowy dyed matching sets, custom charm and keychain belts (which I personally tried to recreate for my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.refinery29.com\/en-us\/last-minute-coachella-outfit-inspiration\">Coachella outfit<\/a>), crystal bras, and chunky jewelry for Larsson\u2019s stage performances. Symbols like hibiscus flowers and dolphins, as well as colors like fuchsia, yellow, and blue are also notable threads throughout their work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has been surreal to go on social media and see viral videos about our collaboration.
